The OpenVBI project aims to gather together a collection of community-vetted algorithms for all aspects of the processing of volunteer data, including translating log files into a common format, translating into the recommended DCDB-supported formats, filtering for outliers, correcting for water levels, estimation uncertainty, and adjusting for offsets.  The goal is not necessarily to have production-ready code, but to clearly demonstrate the recommended best practice for each stage of the processing chain so that different implementations (which are production optimized) can validate their results.
